One nice thing about working in a hospital

Is that you get your vaccinations for free. They don't want you making their revenue any more sick than it already is, after all.

Just a note for everyone; If you haven't gotten your flu shot this year, might want to consider it. We don't have bird flu yet, but it's a good chance we will, and the shit is fast and nasty. Most drugstores are setting up flu clinics. Trust me, it's worth it.

and like my mother got extremely ill. My Dr said not to anymore... on the flip side, for those that it doesn't make extremely ill (the majority of the populous) I highly recommend them.

From what I understand from the info, it was probably because they use...some part of the carrying base for the vaccine (something to do with chicken eggs) that some people have a bad reaction to.

It's not the virus itself that makes you sick (because the cells are dead and can't do anything anymore), but the other components in it that people get an allergic reaction to.

Which sucks if you're one of those people. :/

Here's hoping you don't catch flu, then. Because it's miserable no matter the strain.

yeah, what brought me down was not flu related at all, but some other... something.

And yeah, having had the killer kind of flu twice now, I'd prefer to avoid it.
