And now for my whiny emo bitchfest post.

I'm frustrated. Why?

I've been in the pool all of 6 times this year.

Why?

Because when it isn't full of families and screaming kids, it's locked for 'invisible maintenance' (IE: Supposedly they're Doing Something to it, but there's no one there, and it stays Mysteriously Locked until 'family time' rolls around in the afternoon).

I'm at the point of wanting to strangle everyone in the pool (why aren't you using the pool in the back where your apartments are located, folks? You know, the bigger one that's meant for the kids and families? The one right next to your two, three and four bedroom apartments...unlike the single and two room ones up front where I am and most of the residents are single adults and couples?), and taking a bat to the office management.

Yes, I'm *that* frustrated. For the past three weeks, whenever the pool has been clear of said kids, and I've gotten dressed to swim and walked over, the pool has been locked up. Every Single Time.

I'm just hoping once school starts, I'll have a better chance at it before it gets too cold to swim.

And yes, I realize I sound like a selfish, spoiled, bratty little bitch, but when last year I didn't have this problem, and that pool is the only free and non-heat stroke inducing exercise I can do right now, and I've been dealing with this for two months...I'm getting just a LITTLE peeved.

I think you should officially complain to management. I mean, the pool is part of your perks of renting there.

I've mentioned it when going to pay rent or whatever. In all honesty, it's an inconvenience to me, but it doesn't violate their policy. Any resident can use any pool, so I don't have a leg to stand on really.

Now, if they had made the front pool an 'adults only' one, yeah, I'd have a reason to complain, but they didn't. And to be fair, with kids in it as well as grown-ups, the pool is down more often for cleaning and chlorination (especially since SOME residents don't know how to help keep the pool clean. :( ). So it would be perceived as a timing problem I'd have to work out for myself, rather than a 'violation' of any rules or lease agreements. Hence, the frustration on my part. For whatever reason, the residents in the back of the complex 'discovered' the front pool this year, which changed the demographics from 'occasional adults with occasional (mostly) well-behaved teens using front pool' to 'hey guys, it's a free-for-all!'.

:(

I'm sorry you're being denied.

So am I. It's too hot to walk, and the complex gym is only open from 8am until 6pm, which doesn't work out well for me on most days.

PS: Dad snagged me last night on the phone, which is why I wasn't on.

That is annoying. You should get out your original rental booklet or whatever you got in the beginning that list "pool hours" and bring it to them.

Pool hours are 10am-10pm. It's posted on the signs at the pool.

The problem is: huge influx of other tenents using it this year (which is not against the rules), usually from 4pm until it closes (sometimes past that), which is when I'm finally home from work. There's rarely more than a ten minute window where I'd have the pool to myself or only be sharing it with other adults who I won't run the risk of mowing over when I'm doing laps.

As for the maintenance, I really wouldn't be able to dictate as a resident what's 'necessary' maintenance, you know? And since we've had a rash of various water-bourne viruses and infections locally this year, although it's a pain in the ass, I'd rather they close it down after heavy use and chlorinate the hell out of it rather than catch something I don't want. I just wish they'd do it during the early moring hours when people are less likely to want to get in yet, and then open it back up before noon rather than wait until 3-4pm in the afternoon, when the parents get home and can bring the kids to the pool (because there *are* rules that say kids under 16 are not allowed in the pool area without an adult).
