The Controversial Survey

Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Nope.

Are you for or against abortion?
For, although it would not be a willing personal choice for me. This is one of those things where I believe it's between the mother-to-be and whoever she wants to get involved, and even then, she should have final say.

Would our country (United States) fall with a woman president?
No. The possessing of tits or balls have nothing to do with leadership ability.

Do you believe in the death penalty?
I do and I don't. I'm not much of an eye for an eye person, if only because history bears witness to how that can snowball. By the same token, someone accused in a trial is not on the same bus as the guy who went out with his clan to go kill the other guys over there. Killing doesn't teach the person killed anything, and you can't 'heal' someone of such tendencies, short of cutting bits of their brain out one way or another. But there's a fine line between understanding all that and the practicality of the situation. You can't keep letting them lose. We have limited space in our jails. And letting them sit around doesn't teach them anything either. So, yeah, there are some cases where I think it's appropriate. I don't like it, but it's the best solution out of a mass of bad solutions. Oh, and for what I think killing is good? Murder. Rape. Cruelty to animals. Extreme abuse.

Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I'm torn on this one. Then again, I have little practical use or understanding for the use of, recreational drugs and/or getting drunk off your ass. Personally, I don't think it's necessary except for medical reasons. ON the other hand, if we legalized it, but put up huge penalties for people who abuse it and cause damage to others, at least we'd be able to weed out the ones too stupid to be using it in the first place.

Do you believe in God?
Yes. Although likely in a way others may not agree with.

Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes.

Do you think its wrong that so many Hispanics are moving to the USA?
I think it's wrong that we make it so damned difficult that a lot of immigrants of all stripes try to live under the radar than have to deal with the bullshit it takes to become legal. One of my co-workers had to keep taking days off at least once a month for two years to go jump through hoops for the government. She's legal now, but the process is fucking ridiculous.

A twelve year old girl has a baby...should she keep it?
Gah. This is where one of those where I think the family itself should work out a solution and help to support the girl, regardless of what decision is made. If it's to keep the baby though, I think the parents should help out, because that girl is going to need love, support from her family to get through it.

Should the alcohol age be lowered to 18?
Yes. I agree with Jess--If you're old enough to go to war, get married, and pay taxes, then you're old enough to drink.

Assisted suicide is illegal...do you agree?
No.

Do you believe in spanking your children?
I'm of the old school that believes occasionally a good whack to the butt works MUCH better than trying to talk to the kid, lecture them, or give them a time out (Kids are not always good as reasoning, and so the other techniques will go right over their head while they're screaming and kicking around). It's a quick lesson in 'if you act out of line, there are consequences'. By the same token, I think it should be used judiciously. If you smack little Timmy everytime he looks cross-eyed at something, you're doing it wrong.

Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Why would I want to burn the flag? That would be my first question. Sure, it's a million bucks, but I'm sure I could make a million by killing someone for someone else, too. There better be a good reason to burn it.

A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case, do you agree?
Um. No. She may be 'innocent' under the law, but she still killed those kids. And if she did it intentionally, she needs to be jailed/executed. If she was crazy, she still needs to be locked up.

Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Nope. They can judge, but hey, they're just my opinions.

1: No.
2: I am for safe and legal abortion for all women who feel they need one. I would not choose it my own self but I hate the thought of someone who needed one going to a dirty unlicensed "doctor" and ending up with sepsis.
3: No. Women are as smart or smarter than men and the ability to lead should have nothing to do with gender.
4: I think pot should be decriminalized, taxed and controlled, just like tobacco, and regulated like alcohol. That will generate revenue and free up the cops to focus on things like meth, that destroy lives.
5: yes.
6: yes.
7: No. This is a country of immigrants. Our ancestors came over a long time ago, why can't people move in now? They want to be here, let's help them.
8: Depends on the family situation and the support structure the girl has.
9: Yes.
10: Define "Assisted Suicide" please. If we're talking about a right-to-die thing like Terri Shaiavo, that's different that just assisting someone in suicide I think. A very gray-area question that needs to be defined more closely.
11: When necessary. I don't think a child should be whaled upon for no reason, but if it's a serious infraction, like unbuckling the seatbelt in a moving car or running out into traffic without looking, a pop on the butt is warranted.
12: I don't see the point of this question.
13: Doubt that. "Not Guilty by reason of insanity" is different from "innocent", and if she's actually insane, she needs to be locked up for the safety of herself and others, and gotten the help she needs.
14: Hey, it's your journal, so whatever. Right?
