So at 8:30

I'll take a break from box tossing and go down to make an appointment with the specialist.

The good news is that he's here in the plazas connected to the hospital.

Bad news? Got a better look at what they'd been writing down since the doc at the regular place had to write a short report for me to give to this doctor about treatment.

They never said what it was to me, but 'keratoconjunctivitis' doesn't sound good.

Also 'worse despite supportive therapy'.

Yeah. I guess when I screw something up, I do it right.

I'm at the point of praying it isn't permanent damage.

Keratoconjunctivitis just means inflammation of the conjunctiva and cornea--the surface of your eyeball and the surrounding surface tissue. It can be due to a bunch of things, including allergies, viruses, and UV arc burn.

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, aka "dry eye," is a pretty common condition and can be cured by a bunch of things including blocking off the tear ducts so that your tears don't drain off into your nose. Do not lose hope.

Also, many supportive hugs.

*hugs back*

Thank you.

I'm not really dealing with this well. :P *Spolied brat syndrome, anyone*

I don't think I know anyone who would.

Amusingly enough my eyes have been being more annoying than usual, recently. I might go and have them do the fluorescein thing again.

Here's hoping you end up with better news than I. :)

*hugs*

Again, damn!

Also, this reminds me I forgot to use my Restasis this morning.

There's an eyedrop my opthamologist gave me called "Soothe" which really, um, soothes. Ask about it.

I will. My appt. is next Wednesday--that's the soonest they could fit me in. Until then...yeah. Maybe I'll wear an eyepatch and give my eye a rest. XD.

I think you can buy Soothe over the counter. I'm still using the samples Dr Chappell gave me...

Ooh, you should totally rock the eyepatch. Arrrrrr!

I'll look. I'm down to my last five vials of the Systane, so I have to buy some after work anyway...only thing is whether or not it has preservatives--doc said to avoid that at all costs right now (another reason I was taken off the Zyrec).

I'll be using Jon's favorite word quite a bit the next few weeks, I think.
