Oh. My. God...
I just had a Geek-gasm watching a trailer for FF13.
You all who care have probably already seen this, but I just found it tonight.
The CGI and the battle screens are fucking seamless!
If the game itself is even half as good as the graphics, I'm going to be GLUED to my PS3 when it becomes available.
OMG. The US release date cannot come soon enough.

C'mon, Dave. :P
;)
(And who knows. That's all the info I've really found so far and it really doesn't tell you much other than...yeah, like I said, seemless graphics. Which is a good start at least.)

Like I said, the graphics are beautiful. But so far I've seen a gunblade (8), the super-acrobatic heroine up against impossible odds (10), and the combat looks very much like 12.
I'll say what I said about 12. If you like it, fine. But I'm not going to support Square for cranking out crap games that are ruining the series I love.

The gun reminds me more of the various guns in X-2 (a cross between the 'regular' gun and the 'mage gunner' gun). As for the SAH, well, hey, before that it was the guys who were 'all that' (Squall, Auron, Cloud, etc), so other than replacing balls with boobs, I don't really see much of a difference in the 'bad ass exchange' department.
As for the combat--hey, I've hated that since they quit using the menu method (and I started getting frustrated with even that when they did that whole 'beasties level up with you unless you keep a total n00b in your party' BS in 8).
But that didn't keep me from enjoying it overall anyway. It's just change. (Then again, I'm pretty unpicky as long as it entertains me in the first place, and I'm a notorius suck on the controller anyway, which is why I like menu based games, or ones that give you enough time (or don't totally kill you if you forget which finger goes where for a few second) to get yourself straightened out, such as Oblivion).
Right now, I'm excited about the graphics. And I'll reserve judgement on the gaming part until I've actually spent some time with it. Just like I've done with the rest of the series.

Collecting chicken eggs from the farm yard. That's about right insofar as my co-ordination abilities go. I tend to be the fool that runs into the zombies rather than away. :)
But yeah, that particular Leon had eggs for days until we could get him better shit. :)
