You've probably seen this bit of news a few times already

But it bears repeating and spreading that someone is trying to pass a law that essentially makes even using contraception an abortion in the eyes of the legal system.

Now, other people have said this in much nicer terms already, so I'm just going to let it all hang out.

To the people trying to pass this law:

Listen, you moralistic shit stains, shut the fuck up, stop trying to tell me what to do with my body, and get it into your thick fucking heads that preventing a pregnancy is NOT an abortion, and ISN'T going to make God come down from Heaven and end the world. Although yes, I understand that some of you who are too far gone are hoping that's exactly what's going to happen in your lifetime.

(Hint: It won't. Or it would have already.)

We have more than enough people on the planet already. We don't need more, and we sure as hell don't need more that are going to just keep making more when we can't even take proper care of the ones already here, or the planet, either. If people want to keep from adding to the problem, LET THEM. Why, according to your own morals and 'religiously right' smugness want more people who would do that around, anyway? Shoot yourself in the foot often, do you? Jackasses.

Now fuck off and die in a fire. Before I come and permanently ensure you can't have anymore psychos like you to add to the breeding (and political) pool. Thank you.

They want more people, because larger families have less money to go around, so in order to feed everyone, children get jobs instead of going to school, and being unskilled labour, and having no recourse to public money -- because the Reps have removed all of that from the US, thanks, -- they have to make do on minimum wage scrapings.

In short, if birth control is unavailable, abortion is illegal, teaching about sex ed is grounds for getting fired or jailed, and there is no welfare, the US can grow its own crop of poverty-slaves in one or two generations. Then we can compete with the sweat shops of China! Yee haw, y'all!

And that's exactly why I spend a lot of my time thinking that really, what we need is not reform, is not an 'understanding' political group in government, but basically an entire overhaul.

We're overdue by a long shot for another revolution, even though the pacifist and beliver in the better parts of humanity in me winces even as I type that. We're in too fucking deep. It's time to flip the pieces off the chess board and start over.

I like the comment on the original post that said next thing you know we'll all be classified as having abortions every month when we get our periods. Jesus! Now I gotta go find my old "Get Your Laws Off My Body" and "U.S. Out Of My Uterus" buttons from however long ago.

Personally, I think the only people who have any business in saying ANYTHING about abortion or birth control availability are the prospective parents and their medical doctor. No one else is involved, and no one else should have a say in the situation. Q.E.D.

Agreed. But as long as there's remnants of the 'old guard' that firmly believes (or mouths the beliefs) of a particular extremist belief system in power, we're in for a rocky haul. And I gave up on the 'we'll outlive them someday' mindset for the very simple reason that they breed too, and are teaching their own kin the same thing. So short of all out removal of said bloodlines (which is not really something to consider. Revolution is one thing; genocide/culling another), we're in for an ugly fight. Also, Clue has a point above, and I hate to say it, but it's too entirely likely.

Also, poor, frightened, and uneducated masses are easier to control...and set against each other when unrest starts to erupt.
