Woot!
Okay, for those of you who have art programs of their own, have probably had them for years, and probably know everything there is to know about them, either by dint of an instruction manual or classes that will teach you how to use the dern thing, this is probably no big deal, and you'll be yawning and going 'Yeah, so what? Big Deal....'
But, you know what? I had to learn the hard way, with a 'help' manual that by no means explains everything the Adobe Photoshop Limited Edition 5.0 has to offer, nor how to use it. So...I clickety clicked, futzed around, and screwed up more times this evening than I can count...and then...finally...
Finally...
I learned how to get a nice, sort of 3D pic--with actual layers no less! *grins stupidly* That's right...Anne has learned how to use the Layer Tool...let's hope she retains the knowledge past bed-time tonight...^^;

Of course, now I'm going to have to learn how to make clean edges...lol!!!

I think I about killed my poor little brain yesterday trying to figure it out though...lol...I ended up creating and deleting so many layers while trying to figure out how to combine them that I lost count.
Sadly, the 'embossed' layer (where the girl is nothing but 3D outline) did not show up very well on the finished product...I couldn't seem to get the transparency the right level without loosing the brightness of the colored layer...so that's probably my next trick; learning how to get the embossed layers to stand out and yet not over-shadow the other layers...
Ah, the joys of 'learning by doing...' lol
