I love my cats

And they apparently love me. :)

How do I know this? Yesterday, both of them squeezed into the very small 'spaces' on either side of my leg while I was dozing/watching TV in the recliner for several hours...even though normally they can only stand being that close to each other for maybe ten minutes before someone has to object and start a swat-fest (which usually ends with at least one of them vacating the area), not to mention, Foot is not much of a lap cat, but...there she was.

Last night, they both curled up next to me, purring, all night.
They napped on the bathroom rug while I took a bath.

When I curled up in the chair-and-a-half, Foot tried to curl up next to my head, and when that didn't work out too well, curled up in the computer chair (normally Ula's spot) next to where my feet were hanging. Ula stretched out in front of the chair. And more purring.

As of right now, I'm back in the recliner, with the laptop on my lap (no room for cats), but both of them have picked sleeping spots in various cat beds so that they can keep an eye on me...which they do often in between the bathing routines going on.

I do believe I'm surrounded by furry little nurse maids!

Ergle blurgle blah...

So, I've been feeling slightly 'off' since Thursday. Nothing really notable--a little stomach upset, slight diarrhea that I could blame on the roast beef in the cafe not quite being cooked enough on Friday, the week from hell at work, feeling unusually tired last night, etc (I actually went straight to bed after signing off from Zangarmarsh last night and slept until 10 this morning...a twelve hour sleep). Overall, not enough to complain about, so I didn't note it.

Until this morning, when I finally crawled out of bed (once at 7 to feed the cats--stayed up long enough for that and decided I needed more sleep, since I was dozing off as soon as I sat down--and then 'officially' at 10). Eyes all gunked and crusted up, slight headache, running stuffed nose, and the threat of an incoming sore throat.

Congrats, it's a head cold. :P

Anyhow, wrapped up on the recliner in a nice fleece blanket, watching the original The Poseidon Adventure, sipping on coffee heavily laced with ground cinnamon (the cinnamon really does help with sore throats), and contemplating the fact that I need to vacuum, do laundry, and wash my hair. None of which I want to do, because it requires movement.

Blargh. I'll probably sign into WoW later...but right now...just...blargh. I was supposed to do house chores today and have neither energy nor inclination.

Cold: 4, Anne: 0

Ugh...:/

By the same token, I'm getting the urge to re-arrange the living room. How I'm going to rearrange it, I do not know, since there's limited space. But I'm getting The Urge anyway.

So that cold

Still pretty sure it's a cold.

Right now though, it's taken up residence in my vocal cords. Yay, laryngitis. :(

The good news is that I don't have a fever, sore throat, swollen glands, or the spiffy white dots in the back of my throat that would signify strep, so that's one relief. That, and the cold meds I got this morning seem to be clearing things up a little. I still sound a little rough, but at least I can talk now without choking on my own flem.

Poor Foot is confused, because she's used to 'talking' back and forth with me, and right now, everything I 'say' sounds like a growl and with no tonal variation whatsoever. I took to just whispering 'good girl' and petting her for the meantime, because that big yellow kitten stare she has while she tries to figure what's up with Mom (and whether or not Mom is going to eat her), is kinda making me go 'aww' in that sad way.

Anyhow, at work at the moment, although I might try to beg off the rest of the day if I start feeling really bad. There is much sleeping in my immediate future.

Okay, fine, so I have a head cold.

Gross. I hate summer colds.

Oh well.

Here's a pic, anyway. This is my new tank top--which, yeah, looks a lot better on me than the old grey one did. Actually, I think it looks pretty damned good. Too bad I'm a 3X up there because of my chest (but at least I'm well-proportioned, right?).

Those are also my old size 18 black jeans, which, for the first time this morning in years, did not require 'help' to be put on. Heck of a change from the size 24s in the earlier pictures, isn't it? *g*

Blarg...cold...ew...yuck.

*goes to drink a bunch of OJ*

You know you're not feeling well when...

You've put just a 'touch' too much cayenne pepper in the chili, and you're still snarfing down the juice (and wanting more, even after a full bowl with plenty of juice) like it's going out of style.

Bleh.

Still. Tasty.
