More 5-second memories

1) (Tucson) My grandparents orange trees and grape vine, and my uncles fig and nectarine trees.
2) (Tucson) Tussy the road runner and feeding her (and then her offspring which she brought to the house) raw hamburger bits every day.
3) (New Jersey) Getting jumped in the dark by the family dog outside of a friend's house after her parents took us all to see The Prophecy (the '78 movie with the mutant bear, not the Christopher Walken movie) for her birthday.
4) (Texas) Hand-raising two different pairs of feeder mice from when they were still blind and deaf until their mousy teens. The first pair died (pnuemonia). The second pair lived for two and a half years. All four were real sweet hearts.
5) (Texas) Getting bit by a california kingsnake with a head smaller than my pinky-tip. It then tried to swallow said pinky...until I started laughing. And then it let go and gave me this look.
6) (New Jersey) Winter/Spring school camping trips...which I loved until the dog incident. It took me a few trips after that to get over the notion that something big and slimy was going to crash into the cabin and kill us all. *g*
