Nature is weird
Sep. 29th, 2006 08:07 amBut she has a good sense of humor.
I've just spent five minutes getting a baby gecko out of my shoe.
Yes, you heard me right.
Baby Gecko. In the shoe.
It had been running across my dock...bad place for a half-inch reptile to be. So I tried to herd it to the great outside with my shoe.
(It should be noted that trying to pick up a wild baby gecko is like trying to run on black ice. You might manage it...more likely, you'll just end up losing your grip)
The little guy jumped on my shoe and tried to hide up in the crack where the sole is attached to the leather.
Gecko: Hah! Can't see me!
Me: ...Crap.
So yeah, not wanting the little guy to jump (Thereby necessitating another chase) I opted for taking said shoe off my foot (A feat hard to accomplish since I have to get near the little guy to do so.
So, got the shoe off--so far, so good.
He bolted for the vacated spot.
O.o
Okay, so me, shoe, and socked foot go outside.
I had to play hunt and scoop in my own shoe to get him back out and into the grass.
...At least I was smiling by the end of it. XD.
