Disappointment is...

Having someone tell you they're going to do something that you can get involved in, watching it get dropped for newer and shinier, being told it's really going to happen this time when you ask about it a few weeks later...

and then it not happening. Again.

To quote a song; "I'm to old to go chasing you around, wasting my precious energy". I learned that lesson a couple years back. You don't chase what's not going to happen.

Interested, but cynical about my chances. And not asking anymore. I lobbed the ball over the net. If no one is on the other side to bounce it back, so be it.
