silverthorne: (Book Bunny)
So, has anyone else managed at some point to kick out their first three paragraphs, know where they want to go, have a more or less idea of how to get there...

and your brain just locks?

Because that happened to me last night. It took me three hours to turn out 167 words.

Man, I know the writing muse in my head was pretty damaged, but...wow. O.o

Also, I have a beginning, a vague idea of a middle, and an end. Like a skeleton with maybe the brain and a few toes intact.

This is going to be...insane.

On the good side; I'm not allowed to be into work until 8 today (45 minutes from now), thanks to some unexpected overtime yesterday, although I guess my boss wasn't mathing too well--that's only one hour off a three hour overtime. :)

Downside? Now that I have a few minutes to myself after getting ready, eating a cooked breakfast, and making sure the cat food/water/box is taken care of, the brain lock is back. Watch it unlock right before I go to work, too.

Argh. :P

1,385 words. Unfortunately, I have to sleep so I can be up at OMG in the morning. But this might be a good sign, considering this is only my second day writing. Not quite the required 1,700 needed per day (and more like 2000 for me to be able to catch up, I suspect), but I'm producing, at any rate. Perhaps the weekend will prove to be a productive catch up time. :)
