One more eye update
Feb. 6th, 2008 06:30 pmWell, the drops are helping (if I keep up with them, I at least get the illusion that my vision is fine). I can see the keyboard and the screen okay, and watch TV without too much problem. When it gets blurry, I just apply more drops.
The right eye is still blurry even with my glasses on, but it's starting to clearly focus on close up objects for the most part. Distance objects are still unfocused, but it's more of a cloudy effect than a blur, usually. I just can't see clearly out of it.
The doctor wrote me out a steroid RX...Walmart was taking it's sweet time filling it, and I'm not up to dealing with the rush hour traffic to go back for it, so I'll start that tomorrow. I go in again next Wednesday to see how that does me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This whole situation is for the birds.

Date: 2008-02-07 01:53 am (UTC)It's rather like an old car headlight cover--its milky, scatters light, and although light DOES get through, it's nowhere near as concentrated or helpful as it would be if the 'cover' were new and shiny and clear.
We're trying to re-moisturie the surface, essentially.

Date: 2008-02-07 02:35 am (UTC)Right now, I am using an artificial tear drops called Systane, which is what the doctor told me to get when I went in MOnday.
When I'm using contacts, I have the Bauch and Laum extended wear lenses, and I use the Alcon Optifree Replinish line, which is also what my doctor started me on two years ago.
