Dear ER person:

We have 16 different things known as a 'catheter'--both items that are actually called that, and items that that is nurses' slang for. I need to know which one you're talking about. And no 'We have the 1 and 1/4 inch but need the 1 and 1/2 inch' doesn't really help, especially when the one catheter I know of that's measured like that is the one you vetoed as being what you wanted.

You use these things; I don't. And it really scares me that you're frazzled enough not to give me a better idea of what you're asking for. I know the ER is stressful over all, but really, if you're down there, you need to have the presence of mind to know what you want and to be able to ask for it clearly. They haven't invented mind reading in this reality yet, and I don't have a babelfish to translate what you're asking for into what you actually want.

Dear IS Director:

You know better. You know I need more than 'someone delivered this package and you signed for it, now where is it?' if I'm going to be of any help.

You also know that without a PO number or an idea of who the package was addressed to, I'm not going to be able to figure out who I thought it belonged to. And yes, I saw the same tracking info as you did on the website. It's not helping me any more than to note that the signature was scrawled, and according to the driver, the package was delivered to a residence.

And yes, you are the director, but, you know, maybe you should check your own departments nooks and crannies before asking me where something is. You'll have a better idea of where they hid it after I dropped it off than I do.
