So our router died

And when she was awake, we spent seven hours not knowing that, although we spent a lot of time scanning for viruses, messing with networking, and cussing the connection and Verizon out.
After she went to bed though, I went and tested all the cables out, moved them around, made sure it wasn't just the ports we'd been using that went bad.
But unless I take the multi-line router out and just hook one computer back into the main modem, it's a no go, no matter what cable I put where. But at least the single line hook-up still works.
Bad news though, is that her computer doesn't seem to want to connect anyway, even directly cabled into the modem. Which is...not good. And I'm not sure why it won't work when mine will.
I do know that all her cables are under books and shit she stuffed back there to keep the cats out from behind the desk. Thing is, the sht really is ON TOP of the cables and line--I can not get even another centimeter of cable out of it. So I'm having a feeling part of her problem is likely broken cable wires.
...Feh.
Anyway, gonna at least try and finagle a new router from Staples tomorrow; they carry the same brand as the one we have online, so hopefully it'll be in stock.
