so, okay, I come home and on a whim try the laptop connection one more time.
...It works. (I'm using it right now).
In my elation, I turn on the other computer...
And now her computer has the bad isp address.
Me thinks it's the original Verizon modem at this point.
But hey, at least now I know it's NOT my laptop. *pets the laptop and makes soothing noises at it*
BUT is also still means that I'm on limited computer time :P ah well. I'll take that over needing to replace the laptop parts. ^^

Date: 2007-03-14 11:58 pm (UTC)Your internet didn't get downgraded to a lower ISP package, did it? Because in our household, we've got cable, but it's on what GCI calls the 'silver package' or the 'you cheap bastard give us more money, we're the only provider on the island, mine is an evil laugh' package, which means the DHCP will only gives out one IP at a time. Try for any more than that and it'll all go down with a bang.
So we all just plug the modem into whatever comp wants/needs internet, refresh the modem and away we gooooo. But it's limited to only one rig at a time.
Might want to indeed check in with your provider, just to make sure it's not something on their end. Cuz that's almost what it sounds like.
