So...like...I've been my own person for a couple of months now. My money is doing good, and I've been reinstating one of my two addictions that have nothing to do with ingestion, which is music. I've managed to replace several cassettes (that I've had since the 80's O.o), as well as missing CDs, and gotten a few newer CDs that I've wanted. In fact, I've gotten enough new CD's in, that I'm actually going to have to get another large CD shelf tomorrow after work.

Now, thing is? I'm more or less a muscial omnivour. Bad news is that the past ten years, one of the things that got curtailed was my musical spending. Now that I am no longer curtailed, I find that not only replacing CDs has become a priority.

I'd like to get some new blood into the collection as well.

So, flist. What do you listen to? What CDs would you recommend as the start to a good collection? Doesn't matter the genre; I like just about anything. Which is actually the problem. I have plenty of rock, metal, and pop...but the rest of the genres are sadly lacking (although recs for newer groups and CD releases will not go amiss, either).

So hit me up with what you think I should give a shot. My play allowance needs to spent somewhere.

Well, I have the 2 CD set of Queens Best.

The humongous Stevie Ray Vaughn CD set (6 or eight CDs...I forget which, but, yeah, I have almost as much Stevie as I have Bon Jovi.)

And a 18 track 'Best of' Creedence CD. :)

Although I will have to add them to my next mp3 player when I get the 'OMFG Do You Really Need That Much Music On Your Person At Any Given Time?!!'

The answer? Yes, yes I do.

What sepcific albums do you like of those artists? Or do you go on a song by song basis?
