So, one of the departments that has the ability to order shit on their own gets some stuff from Office Depot.
It doesn't show up next day (wonder of wonders, because they didn't order it for overnight, but for ground.).
I spend two days of fielding calls from them after the initial 'is it here yet?' discussion with...more 'is it here yet?'. I grit my teeth and simply and patiently answer 'no' each time with a promise to run it over ASAP when it does finally show. This is, after all, normal behavior for folks waiting for shit and it does no good to get upset about it, right?
So, finally, one tiny little box does show. It's obviously not the whole order they were talking about and when I take it to them, I tell them I know this, but since it was sent ground, it's possible the boxes were seperated (also common, also not worth freaking out about).
Well, that wasn't a good enough answer for them so they call Office Depot about it. Which was actually good in a way, because that's how we all found out someone who isn't even in the personnel base signed for the rest of the boxes.
What was not so good? Whatever was said between them and Office Depot ended with the office depot people calling administration first, looking for the person who signed for it. Not me--administration.
Uh...yeah. Other than they won't have any better clue where the guy who signed for it actually works and can reapeat that information to you, all that accomplishes is getting the big dogs involved in something they don't need to be involved in. It was signed for, it wasn't by me, and not by anyone who works here. If you're gonna go after someone, go after UPS, whose driver is the one who actually mucked the delivery up, 'kay?
Um, yeah, rambling.
PS--No, I didn't get in trouble--Admin knows me better than...whatever was indicated. It's just the whole string of impatience, finger pointing and lack of following procedure that annoyed the fuck out of me. It's kinda like dealing with shoppers who ask you where something is, and are standing right next to it (and often looking right at it as well), or the ones that try and follow you into the warehouse when they think you're 'lying' about not having anymore of whatever special for sale thing they want and we're out of. Just...:P.
