So...
Vague disappointment in that although we were supposed to get up to mid-80's today, it hasn't happened yet, even though we pretty much stayed in the mid-60's all night. Disappointed because I was actually going to go dump my butt in the pool this afternoon, but since it's only hit 72 at 11 am, and we've had cloud cover all morning, I suspect the water is going to be too chilly for me to tolerate even if it does manage to hit the target temp this afternoon. :/ Yeah, getting used to swimming in Tucson during the summer will do that to ya, unfortunately. (if I were still used to NJ temperatures, my body would be fine with it)
Foot has finally completely adjusted to her tags--we've had a week of wear them, slink around because she doesn't want to stand and make them jingle more, a few escapee moments, etc. But she's adjusted to them now (although we had one unintentional funny moment during playtime when she 'caught' her rabies tag instead of the ribbon-on-a-stick I was wiggling for her. *g*)
More favs for the Foot. She prefers Pro-Plan moist to Science Diet moist. So unless the vet has a good reason to not use that instead, that's what her moist will be from now on. I'll probably donate the Science Diet to a local shelter or something. She also likes jingle balls and the aforementioned ribbon toy. When she first moved in, it was feathered toys, but I think getting biffed in the face with the feather mouse-on-a-stick when she tried to grab it and run killed that. Now she'll only bat at the various feathered things if I wiggle them at her with my hand...and usually she prefers to bat once and then back off. Ah yes, feathery trauma; the poor thing. :/
I have thankfully been spared cat soccer in the bathtub playtime--although that's probably due to the fact that the faucet has a slow drip that managment has yet to fix. IF that's ever corrected and there's no longer any fear of puddles on the playing field, I might be treated to that fine sport after all.
I'm looking for a lightwieght denim jacket for the spring. Unfortunately, Kohls is not cooperating in this endeavor (although I like their printed t-shirts, so all was not lost after five different trips). The ones they still have are either too small, or made of a certain black denim blend, that, to me, smells vaguely like burned rubber, even after it's been washed a few times. I've run into this particular denim both at Kohls and at Walmart, so I'm sure it's the fabric blend itself in combination with whatever black dye is being used. One pair of jeans I got at Walmart I had to get rid of because the smell drove me crazy. When I can smell my legs when I'm standing up, that's bad. :P
Other than that, it's been a quiet day. I'll probably try getting the Rock Band equipment hooked up again and seeing if the PS3 likes the USB hub for it any better now that I've adjusted a few settings. :)
