Icon Meme!
Oct. 31st, 2007 09:20 pmComment on this post. I'll choose six userpics from your profile and you'll reply here (or you know, your own journal, whichever), explaining what they mean and why you're using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.
Also, feel free to please ask me about my icons here, as well.
I'll add that if you just want to ask about mine - but not explain about yours - that is okay, just say so in your comment.
So, I commented on

Oracle Wind:

The most recent addition to my icon cache. This is actually a screen capture--one of two that I did--from the movie 300. I liked the composition of it in the movie and decided to give a go at trying to make it into a decent icon. It's a little dark, and I may have to redo it at some point. But for now, I like it well enough for it to be my default icon.
Henna Hands

I joined an LJ icon community called
iconaddicts in the beginning of the year because I liked a lot of the work going up there, and because I didn't feel up to making my own at the time. This particular icon was made by
_boneflower_. I like to use it for posts where I'm offereing comfort or what could argueably be called 'wisdom' or 'common sense' (hahah). It puts me in mind of supplication and kindness. That, and I love henna designs. :)
Time Fades

Another one from the community that I really liked. It reminds me of how some older movies, like Always and What Dreams May Come, and that sort of fantastical/romantic/sad look at life, death, love lost and regained. In use, it's for things that remind me of the past.
The Cat

Made this from a picture that was in an email my dad sent me of several different photo manips from...well, I dunno where. I was the 100th or so recipient of this particular email, and have no idea who actually made the original picture, which also includes the moon off to the right, made up like a little white, fat mouse that the Earth is about to eat. On it's own, it makes for a great 'I'm so fucking fed up with this shit' icon, so that's usually what it gets used for. :)
Coffee or Die

I am a confirmed chocoholic and caffiene addict. Obviously, coffee is my caffiene of choice (especially since I've quit drinking sodas). It's another icon made by 'someone else', but the quote made me grin. I'm actually one of those disgustingly cheerful morning people, and tend to be both friendly and smiling. Unless I'm at work, and you just happen to be the first idiot who asked me for something by going 'well, it's that little blue thing that goes on the machines we use for...'
At that point, yeah. I drink some coffee to gain time in which to gather my wits and patience. Or else someone will die. ;)
Hell on Wheels and Horses

Another self-made screen capture icon. I've decided I really like the new Ghost Rider movie. I love Nicholas Cage. I grinned when they started playing Ghost Riders in the Sky in that scene...and I've always liked the part in the cowboy movies where the good guys get on their horses and ride--off to do battle with whatever scum of the earth is trying to take down the local town and send it to hell. I thought of calling it 'Hell Comes to Breakfast' at first, then decided I liked the old standby, expanded, better. At the moment, I'm not sure what it'll get used for most often, but I'll think of something.
