So, anyway. Week before x-mas. Lots of shit to process because between x-mas and new years, there's maybe two days next week when the major companies will actually, you know, deliver shit. Chaos, of course, ensues and will continue to do so.

Now, for some UNGODLY REASON, HPA also picked this coming week for changing over our old supply/accounting/purchasing system from what Tenet left behind to our own, brand new shiny system. Okay, fine, no big deal; it'll happen after hours anyway.

Well...okay. Something of a big deal because we also have to do this little thing called 'inventory' so that we know what we're keeping for the change over.

Right, then. Of course, that was supposed to happen tomorrow.

Which is, of course, why it happened today...you know...on the same day I have two major trucks (Owens and Minor and Medline) delivering...and delivering more than usual since they're, you know, only delivering one day apiece next week (O&M is usually Mon-Weds-Fri, and Medline Tues-Fri).

So...the first three hours of my eight hour shift? Was spent waiting for these people to finish counting.

The rest? Was spent breaking my damned ass to get six hours of work done in three.

...okay, done whining.

I'll give you mine, so you don't feel so alone, even though it's a completely different industry. Yesterday late I get a call from a client wanting an employment ad in a weekly paper next week, on Thursday. I call the ad director of the parent company newspaper (the target newspaper is run by hippies in their pajamas, but the parent company is pretty solid) and he says, sure we can do it, send me the ad. So I do.

Today I get an email from some totally other person saying that the deadline for the 12-27 issue was 12-13 because of the holidays...TWO WHOLE WEEKS EARLY. I can understand early deadlines, but two weeks is early in the extreme. I mean, even hippies can get a newspaper put together in less that two weeks! WTF is up with that?

So needless to say, by the time I find this out (3:00 this afternoon) it's too late to get hold of anyone involved in the process, as they have all left for the holiday and won't be back till Wednesday. Then I left at 3:30 my own self. Either the ad runs or it doesn't, and the client is either happy or angry, but there's not a damn thing I can do about it at this point.

So, that's my whining for the day.

I don't get it. Don't these people want me to give them money? Because I will, if they just RUN the flippin ad already!! I placed two ads with this same paper back in November, and I'm still waiting for them to send me proof of publication. How hard is it to put a piece of paper in the mail?

Oh well. Christmas now. Whee!
