If they can dictate what people are consuming and how, they can control the money--which is a big Republican thing. They probably think that being denied access to food will drive the 'obese' folks, or at least some of them, into the health industry to lose weight...and the health industry is a decent cash cow for the government.
Those that don't will resort to buying more food at the store--much of which will likely be the 'junk' food and easy to make deals, which are cheaper to make, worse for you, one of the biggest causes of obesity, and also has ties back into government programs and/or deals with major compnaies that produce the stuff. Either way, they'll make money off the over-weight population.
