silverthorne: (Richie's Hey Thar)

But first, a side note:

"Dear Richie. You sing beautifully. You are truly King of Swing. But baby? 'If God Was A Woman' sucks rocks in the lyrics department as well as in concepting and I'd have to punch you in the gut for it if we were face to face.

Fuck you, but love you anyway,
Anne

ps--I'm taking the song off my MP3 player when I get home. And you make a lousy misogymist. Cut it out. It's bad for you.'

When I went shopping for my jogging gear last night, I had to snag more artificial tears. The Systane had quit working, and in fact had started making my eyes blurry for a half hour or longer after use. :/

I'd also run out of drops during work yesterday (Didn't bring enough vials), so was actually using a vial of saline solution to at least keep the eyes rinsed, which seemd to help a bit.

So I did some serious label reading in the eyedrop aisle.

I wound up buying Thera Tears instead. Also non-preservative (that was the actual condition of what drops to buy--Systane had been a suggestion, but at tha time I was half blind and upset so did that instead of looking around for alternatives).

Well, a few things I noticed after the first dose last night.

1) The Thera Tears are thicker consistancy. That feels nicer.
2) They didn't make my eyes sting.
3) You get more out of each vial.
4) My eyes were clearer after than when I used the Systane
5) They're also clear about a minute or so after application, instead of 15 minutes or more after a dose of Systane.
6) Different stuff. I forget at the moment what the Systane has as its active ingredient, but Thera Tears has Sodium Carboxymethelcellulose.
7) They're also clearer for longer. Mt eyes, that is.

So....anyhow. Yeah.

Now watch me get in trouble Wednesday for changing my drops. XD.

Also: I did not manage to get to the exercise room. But I did walk to the store and back at a nice crisp pace (cold and misty fog helped with the dsire to move fast. :) ) So that was a good hour and a half of walking.

Oh, and last note--I can definitely tell a diff between my right and left eyes when I touch them--the right eye is massively swollen in feeling in its socket. And kinda gooshy, too. :/ Ew.

Concur!

That song, along with "Naked", are examples of why I say Jon and Richie working together are better than solo. "Naked" is just stoopid.

I was trying to remember if I had used Systane before and I think I did and hated it. And damn! I forgot my Restasis again!! You should post about your eyes earlier in the day so I read it while still at home and remember to use the eyedrops. Or maybe I should just make a big sign that says "EYEDROPS" and tape it to the mirror.

Anyway. Happy Friday!

I really do like his sound. I even like the instrumentation on that song. It's nice and catchy, and with decent lyrics would actually be a fav of mine.

But. Yeah.

That's the one thing I notice about Richie On His Own. He goes from these really sweet love songs to non-gems like this song, and it makes me go 'dude, if you believe even half of the crap you write in the bad songs, I can see why you might be having problems finding and keeping a quality girl'. Yanno? I mean, I understand the whole 'that other gender drives me crazy zometimes' thing (and there are some great songs about it, too), but...there are...um...lines you really shouldn't cross if you don't want to come across as a total ass. And...Richie tends to sound like an ass when he tries those kind of songs.

Hee! I would've posted earlier, but I was trying to figure out why in hell I got a pallet that belongs in Plano when I first got in, and calling all the right people to get them to come pick it up, so...

And yeah, the Systane worked great for maybe a week, and then it was just kinda 'oh look, blurry stuff and my eyes are not much better after it clears' :/.

And Happy Friday to you, too!
