Well, the original doc had me in that Zylet until the appointment I had last week with her. That was Dr. Pham, who does my regular check-ups and my RX for glasses/contacts. She took my off the Zylet when it became obvious it wasn't working and had me go to make an appointment with Dr. Lee--which is who I saw yesterday.
So from then until yesterday, all I was on was the artificial tears.
Dr. Lee, when he checked me out yesterday, said I had managed to get an (unspecified) bacterial infection as well as the (unspecified) viral infection. It had gone on long enough, that he really couldn't ID it anymore.
So, he took me off the artificial tears (thank god, because that was eating a hole in my budget), and put me on Zymar--one drop every two hours when awake, right eye only. I got in three doses last night (and just took the secodn dose for today). But yeah, there is a definite improvement going on.
I go back tomorrow morning so he cna see how I'm doing. He said yesterday the Zymar was to clear up the bacterial infection before he can put me on a steroid drop to clear up the viral part. Looks like it's working fine so far. :)
