I liked Planet Terror better than Death Proof.

But if you don't recall what they're homaging, they're not as good as they hsould be.

They're only playing Planet Terror.

It's all right, and I like the grainy 'old film' techniques, but over-all, eh.

Just as well. Death Proof is about 90 minutes of "Quentin, will you please get on with it already?!" and about 20 total minutes of film worth watching.

Yeah, I've heard that.

Yep. Of the two, Planet Terror is the far better.

I played this before but it was with different questions. I might do this batch tomorrow for the heck of it.

*I* liked Death Proof. But I'm willing to forgive Quentin his little indulgences. If you recall, parts of Kill Bill were pretty darned slow too.

well, that's apparently premiering next week, so like this one, I'll watch it once at any rate just so I know what everyone else was talking about.

Kill Bill the 'Mexico' trilogy (I know he didn't do the original one), and From Dusk 'Til Dawn are really the only QT flicks I've wanted to see more than once. In the case of Kill Bill, I think I would have liked it less if 1) I didn't recognize 98% of the genres represented, and 2) He hadn't switched them out every so often (thus keeping my interest by pulling me from one 'style' to another).

I loved Death Proof. Planet Terror was awesome, but I love the old school car chases.

If it has cool cars, I'll enjoy staring at them if nothing else. :)

Also, I think the 'add' gave away half the plot--the guy's car keeps him alive as long as he;s in the driver's seat, even if he fatally crashes. And of course, he goes around taking in passngers to have fun killing them while he survives the whole thing.

Very Christine like in basic, round-about idea, actually. :)

Well, it's not so supernatural as that. You'll like it, though. Nice cars throughout.

Hmn....cars.

I needs me a fast car icon....

Well, it's not that the car keeps him alive because of anything paranormal. He's a stuntman, so his cars have been structurally modified to be "death proof". Reinforced frames, rollcages, etc.

But you're still correct on the second part. He's a sick fuck.
