The Final Fantasy ones are actually mostly menu-run (click on the choices you want for each round--the computer does the rest) when it comes time to fight. Only the most recent (12) starts to veer from that formula, and even then, it's more of a 'run up to the monster and then pick your choice from the menu' thing. The rest of the time is spent walking, exploring, searching, and talking, so you might like it (getting the guide book helps too, for when you get OMG!STUCK!, which is often one of my problems. :) ).

And yeah, I play video games as much for story as for game playing, so I get you there. :)

You should see me try (try being the operative word, there) playing the RE games. Half the time I run right into the monsters rather than away.

We won't even talk about games like Mortal Combat and Paradise Burnout, and my mad (not) skills in them. *g*
