Yeah. Usually when a band drops or raises a key, it's because someone's having a problem with the high or low end of the song's range. But, you can usually tell that that's what's going on when it happens.
And, I dunno. The changes seemed more random than a simple 'let's spare Jon's voice' thing, especially when they'd hop back into the original key a few more measures down the song. There was no consistancy to it, I think, is what jarred me. Either within the songs it happened to, or to Jon's singing range (although he was singing higher than he should on some of the songs, and you could tell he'd drifted back into bad habits from before he'd gone and seen a vocal coach.)
