Still watching Animal Planet, and they're still doing Animal Cop shows.

They just showed a section where a momma cat had kittens at the shelter.

As soon as Foot heard the little ones calling, she woke up, went to the edge of the couch arm, and chirped and called for a few seconds at the TV, watching the screen the whole time.

Poor baby would have made a good mama if I could have let her have the little ones. :/

They're doing a rescue kitten right now. :) And yep. Foot went back to watch the TV again while the little one was on and being vocal.

She likes the big cats, too.

Heh. I watch it too; even though most of the situations the animals are in make me want to remove half the human race from existance, there's usually a happy (or at least peaceful) ending for the rescued critters.

did you see the one where the guy had 247 cats in his house o_o

PS if you have the means, you should get a pussywillow branch for Foot to play with. I've never seen our cats as interested in anything as they are in what is essentially ...a stick. You have to watch they don't chew on it too hard or they'll try to eat bits of it, but they LOVE it. I don't know if it's the smell or what.

...247?! Holy fuck! How...? Oh...man. D:

I saw the one earlier where the lady had thirty of them in her house, but no, not the guy with...holy. The horders that have 'just' a few dozen tend to have nasty enough houses as it is. I can't even imagine what that place must have been like. 'Scuse me while I go reflex barf.

I haven't seen any pussywillow plants in Texas (I'd know where to find them in Jersey, though). I'll keep it in mind, though. :)

Once she is fully settled, consider getting her a "friend". That will be all the socialization/mothering she needs, I think. It did wonders for my boy cat, Kemper. He absolutely adores his little sister, Mina, even though he is 5 years old and was an only during all that time.

Yeah, I've already considered that, actually. It'll probably another rescue if/when I do (although more likely one I go looking for rather than another one that ends up on my porch! lol).

ATM, though, I have tighter than usual finances and can't currently afford another round of pet deposits and set-up vet visits for all the prelim stuff needed for a new cat (shots, exams, spay/nuetered if needed, etc.), so that'll be a bit in the future before I can get her a friend.
