Evolution and Creationism

Why oh why can't anyone possibly come up with the idea that maybe whatever created everything might have used evolution as the tool to do so with? You know--intelligent design, with the design part being evolution?

Or am I the only one more interested in asking questions for learning than in worrying about who has what agenda?

You're not the only one.

I came to that conclusion in fourth or fifth grade.

God put evolution on earth. And the Adam and Eve ended up on each continent so every race has a pair of original humans.

I never got as far as Adam and Eve, myself. *g*

Seriously, though, the whole 'they're trying to force us to believe one way or another' thing is starting to irritate me, espcially with the PA thing going on. If it's that big of a deal, folks, then start making religious theology a recommended, if not required, semester to go along with the evolution theory. Just be sure to keep it non-denominational. Honestly, I saw nothing wrong with the disclaimer thing they had going already anyway.

The kids are going to believe what they believe based on personal experiences anyway. Just educate them, dern it! In more ways than one.

Besides...it's not like anyone has the definitive answer on that subject anyway.

At least that's mortal and still living. *g*.

(I think our heads would pop if we understood everything about the universe and how it works...)

I've had this argument before. Yep, I believe in evolution. But what gave that first spark of life to the tiny ickle organism that started to split and mutate.

It's god or "magic", and what's to say it's not one and the same. But if you blend them like that, you start blurring lines and both sides get scared when you do that.

Yeah, sadly, this is true. Many people need to have very firm boundaries around most things...to be fair, most people have things that require boundaries around them for the person to feel comfortable.

The problem is, when it comes to the past? Boundaries need to be shrubbries and not brick walls. Firm enough to establish the walls but not iron clad.

Course, this coming from a girl that spent her early college years, and most of her childhood, studying the sciences behind Indiana Jones. Historical theology and creationism, like archeaology, is all about taking what we have and building a plausible explanation from that. Which means you have to be more than willing to take new facts and evidence and apply it.

Something neither side can do if their minds are closed.

My solution is to believe in creationism on even numbered days, and evolution on odd.

*Laughs!*

I like that idea; I ought to try that sometime. *g*
