Brittney Spears as the next 'mother figure'.

I mean...I really am not sure.

It's a lovely piece of art.

It's also already getting 'claimed' or derided by both sides of the abortion issue.

...He used Brittney Spears as a model.

I feel the same way about her that some people feel about That Woman.

So...uh...yeah.

Really torn here.

As someone that has given birth? The only time you look like that in the whole process is possibly conception. Also?

It might work, for the side that choose it, if they had actually found someone that had experienced vaginal childbirth as I was informed Spears had a c-section.

Oh, I know that statue is in no way accurate. I'm just a bit wierded out by the model choice and the issues that are already springing up around it.

Artisically, it reminds me of old fertility statues, where they were inaccurate as all hell, but you definitely knew what it was about. By the same token, other than the what looks like a flabby belly, I'd have to say it looks more like she's getting ready for her man, if you get my meaning, rather than give birth.

I think on the not-sure-if-I'm-outraged side, I think it's the concept of Brittney as a 'good mom role model' that kinda bugs me. Just...doesn't jive with what I've seen of the woman, you know what I mean?

Oh, it totally looks like she's getting ready to conceive, not give birth. The whole gripping onto the bearskin rug throws off that.

But I know what you mean. I mean, I don't know what kind of Mom she is but I've seen her as a "role model to young girls" anf that's enough for me to do no more than mock that piece of art.
