So...

Pretty neat sky this morning. The clouds were extremely low, so they were picking up the illumination from the cities underneath. Because it's flat, you can see sky for miles, so all the different little light clusters made the clouds look like the sunrise instead.

Of course, since Dallas is to the southeast, and Fort Worth to the west, of the route I use to get to work (and then there's The Colony, Denton, Irving and Lewisville itself where I live), it made it look like sunrise was actually happening south-west to west from my POV.

Which is disorientating when you've just gotten up and are driving without your first cup of coffee. *g*

Made it into the Carrollton area, and had another surprise--a tribble-shaped furry thing on the right edge of my lane. It scurried for the field on that side, and I swerved slightly (would have swerved more, but, cars coming up behind me) to the left. Didn't feel a bump, so I'm going to assume that the mouse made it to the grass.

By the way? Field mice in Texas are the size of small rats. Just so you know. ^^;

And the third cool thing was having a red-tail hawk sort of glide by me as I was walking from the cafeteria to the dock with my breakfast. Beautiful. All his feathers in place, and he looks healthy (despite the ongoing encroachment into his territory that's been happening for the past six years while the metro-plex expands). He even slowed down when I said 'good morning, beautiful' to him.

So, so far, the outside world at least is doing fine. ^^
