You want me to do what, to whose dog, for how many Oreo cookies?!

So, anyway. Anyone who's kinda read my meanderings a little knows that I happen to like Morrowind, which is a nice little, kinda open ended, wander-and-look at the pretty colors RPG video game. I came by it by way of the X-box, and now have it on my Laptop as well (other than the pinball machine, I've cleared all the other games off it so that there's Room To Work With).

Now, the PC version comes with a 'contruction set', which essentially allows you to go in, build things like dungeons and buildings, decorate them, and then set your newly made creation into the game itself via a plug-in file. (I'm working steadily on a new 'home' right now, because I'm never satisfied with the size and storage of the ones you can earn or claim without getting put in jail if you're caught in-game. I collect too much shit that I like to peer at from time to time. Shinies. Gotta love them.).

This also means that you can create your own clothes and races--Two things I love doing, just as something artistic to do--and likewise throw them into the game, either as NPC's or as a character you can play.

This is heaven for someone like me.

Only...there's this problem, see? The game animations for such things are dependant on something called .nif files. Because, you know, 3-D and all that. So you need a progam that can make .nif files and support 3-D meshes and so forth.

Well, okay then. Let it not be said that for the sake of character design (hobby or not), that I won't shell out a few bucks so that I can do it right.

...The program costs $800.

Ouch.

I've already sold my soul to the laptop gods. And I don't think I'm ever going to have a first born, so that's right out.

Sucks to be me.

I love the snowy slopes when there's snow falling. It's like. . . it makes me homesick.

Yeah. A couple of my head/face things work quite well. The others are wonky.

I am hell come to earth when it comes to monster mods and Seyda Neen. My vampire has emptied the place out--undead Fargoth actually upset me!--and I went through it as a werewolf. That wasn't nearly as satisfying, because some doors are locked.

Apparently you can go through quite spectacular werewolf rampages in Vivec.

Heh. I remember the first time it started raining in-game. I was all O.o! The Weather Changed! ACK!

I'm so used to Final Fantasy, where, even though they led the way on a lot of the 3-D gaming stuff, still pretty much sticks to 'when you're here, it's this time of day with this kind of weather, and when you're over there, it's something else, but also doesn't change.' So the whole changing environment thing for me was something else. I wasted three game hours when I first started just watching the sky, weather, time, and everything else just move and change around the charcter.

Do you make your own mods or download? The ones that're working good for me is the one Fashions of Vvarfendel(sp?) and then the one girl's mods that did all the faery dryad mods and the one treehouse mod (her hair mod works beautifully, and her clothing mods and household accessory mods work nicely as well).

I also have the updated Better Bodies mod in play and Rhedd's Heads mods downloaded, but Rhedd's stuff is giving my game fits when I try to use it (as in I have to use ctrl-alt-delete to get out of a black screen), so I've had to take the plug-in off. And I have a bunch of Khazaahd's face mods, but I can't access those for some reason, and I'm not sure why.

'Course, I've only mucked with other using other people's mods for about two weeks now, so...

I download. I tried the predator mod but ACK BUGS BUGS GET THEM AWAY AIEEE!!

I haven't noted the faery dryad mods. I got poor, poor Fargoth with the "vampire embrace" mod, I have area of effect arrows, I have a couple pretty-armor mods. And I got a lair just for "big empty room with a bed."

The better bodies mod creates brainbreak. I cannot get over female berserkers in pretty lacey undies running up and trying to kill me. Yeah, you look feral and savage, girl.

...You must have been looking at a different download site for the better bods than I did, then. The one I snagged has three choices--one with all nakkid (anatomically correct O.o;) people, guys with standard brown undies and girls nude, or everyone with standard undies and bras.

Guess so. These are suited to the skin tone and with a little lacey detail.

Anatomically correct? NO THANK YOU. That's all I need, anatomically correct berserkers haring after me when I'm just trying to sell my new axe. ;.;

Huh. Do you remember the name of the mod-maker?
(And why does that sound like a real cheesy line from a bad Ghostbusters knockoff?)

LOL. Well, you cna chose to download the 'we all have undies' version, as opposed to the AC version, or the 'we wanna see girl boobies' version.

I chose the one with underwear on everyone, because I just couldn't bear the thought of my poor girls chafing under their armor without protection. ^^

(That, and I've seen enough of the real male anatomy over the course of my life that I don't want to see it greeting me in-game either.)

:/ No. I can look in the file later. It's got lace on the brassieres of the women and buttons on the underwear of the men. Like I said: berserkers are fairly amusing now.

Yes. I put clothes on my characters because they're wearing metal armor, and that's got to pinch. (I also wince after dumping them into the ice-cold water around the island.)

Also: I hate the Bloodmoon quest. My character's level 50something and dies and dies and dies on it.
