Indy posted a link to Snopes this morning about the 'Olympic Torch' or 'Invitation' virus 'threat' that was starting to circulate last night.

It's a falsy. :)

In general though, a tip that I learned from my retired IBM dad and the techs at my current job, is that if you aren't sure about the email, either because you don't know the sender, weren't expecting anything from a known source, or just notice that there's an extra payload of 27KB or more attached, and you're pretty damned sure that it isn't funny macros or the latest in-joke from your co-worker, then don't open it. Rather, either call/email the person in question before you do (if you know who it is), or just delete it immediately and clear it out of the deleted folder ASAP. Better safe than sorry, and if it's actually something important, the person who sent it should be able to resend once the confusion is cleared up. :)
