Ah, the joys of Snakey Hatching Season.

We have the dubious honor of working in a hospital that appearently was built on or next to the yearly rat-snake breeding hole. How do I know this? I nearly got my ass run over by the female OR techs as they stampeded out of the area after one of them found a hatchling in one of the rooms.

Appearentlyy, Mom, who was gently relocated to a feild across the road last year by the kind and gentle contructtion people digging up her nest, has returned to her favorite place. Where there's one baby, there will be more...

Which means I'm going to get to play snake catcher again this year when they can't find the big, burly (and terrified of snakes) Engineer/Security guys...

They've already tried to foist today's catch off on me until one of them wanted to take it home to her son. I toldd her not topp keep the snake--let oit loose. Wild ones tend to die of stress when captured. Hopefully she will listen. I think she will though--she was the only one not having a shit fit.
