(No, I haven't had my coffee yet. But that's only because it isn't done brewing.)
So, okay. Now that I'm out of the house I:
Am eating a lot of fruits and veggies.
Am eating mostly lean seafood with the occasional lowfat hamburger or keilbasa sausage dish thrown in for variety.
Have not had one. Single. Wine cooler. Since I've moved out, and haven't wanted one (or any sort of alcohol) at all.
Am drinking mostly ice water, with the occasional Lime Diet Coke, as well as coffee and one 8oz cup of V8 juice and one 8oz of OJ with vitamin D and calcium with breakfast each morning.
...and I'm actually thinking of cutting out the coffee, too.
Hmn...should I?

Date: 2007-07-12 12:55 pm (UTC)I'm more worried about my beleguered teeth, and the blood pressure (it got into the 'high' range before I departed the old household. Hmn...maybe I should check on it again and see if moving/losing weight helped that any).

I see you're worried about teeth, so, coffee does stain for sure.

Date: 2007-07-12 01:04 pm (UTC)What qualifies as 'good' loose teas? Also--the chocolate thing? My other addiction. I have a feeling that would be like substiting a demon for a devil, if you get my meaning. *g*
Yeah, I am. No budget was ever set aside for dental or medical where I used to live, and as a result, I'm already losing my molars on the left side. I'm not looking forward to my first visit in over a decade, because I already know there's going to be several thousands of dollars of work to be done, even if they just pull teeth and set me up with a bridge on that side.
Coffee has a high acidic content from what I recall. So you know that's not helping.

Oh! Um, I think like a green or black tea. As for the acid in coffee, try skipping the sugar or using brown sugar instead. I've been told by my hair expert, Louise Marie (http://hairgasm.com) that there's an interaction with coffee and white sugar that makes an acid.
Oy, as for your dental work, get it checked out and look forward to averting trouble. :) I did not know you were losing your molars though. Ouch.
Yeah, if your teeth are compromised, might as well stop now.
*hugs*
Oh, hey, um, what's your new addy?

Date: 2007-07-12 02:26 pm (UTC)Is that what it is? I use flavored creamers, but very rarely use out-and-out sugar. Maybe it has the same effect...
Yeah, this month was 'messing with the budget so you can finish buying the necessary furniture'. Next month is 'budget for the doctors' month. The visits will be cheap thanks to insurance, but I suspect more than one doc is going to want to stick me on drugs or something (or do at least SOME dental work), so I need at least a little set aside for that possibilty/probability. I'm pretty damned healthy all things considered, but that doesn't mean I've escaped unscathed.
I'll put up a flist-locked post in a few minutes for you and everyone. ^^

Date: 2007-07-12 02:31 pm (UTC)My other choice is to wait until Friday, not have my morning cuppa, take ibuprophen to head off the damage, and then hide in the apartment for the rest of the weekend and only communicate through text so I don't bite anyone's head off. ^^;
If you do
Date: 2007-07-12 02:13 pm (UTC)I agree with Clue, try half caff if you can. Another option would be just cut back the number of cups.
Personally, I would cut back, not cut out.
Re: If you do
Date: 2007-07-12 02:34 pm (UTC)Like I said, I think I'm just worried about my (admittedly already shot-to-hell) teeth and the blood pressure thing. I';m hoping getting out of the stress and being on a healthier diet and exercise schedule helped with that, but coffee might be contributing as well.
Guess we'll see, huh?
