rebl1969's suggestion, and I can already tell it won't work (it started exchanging info even when I'd set it to 'do not connect'). :/ So, for now, my laptop gets to be 'fat and lazy' while it babysits the music files.
Ah well, at least I got them all in again (and actually better taggedand organized this time, so there is an upside.). I might even add a few more of the soundtracks someone else had burned for me a while back. :)
