State of the Foot

I have honestly never seen grateful cat before. No, seriously. But I know what one looks like now.
Anyhow, when I went to get Foot yesterday, she was surprised to see me--and then as happy as she could be when drugged to the gills. I was getting the 'hi, mom!' and 'OMG, IZZAT YOU??' meows from her when she realized I was there.
There were of course complaints when we headed for the door and howls when we got outside. She got quieter in the confines of the car, but was at full howl by the time we got to the apartment.
And then, we got inside. I had to leave her in the carrier for a few hours per instructions, but...
As soon as I settled the carrier, she got quiet. And she just started looking around as best she could. I kid you not that the experssion on her face was just like a human 'I don't beleive it, I'm actually back!'.
When I could finally let her out, she made the rounds of the apartment, wobbly as she was. She checked for her bowls, the cat box (and used it, too), where her toys were...and once she was sure they were all right they;d been Monday morning, she went under the bed and started to sleep the drugs off.
She ate around nine, but was still drugged. By 12:30 am though, the drugs were gone--I know this because she got up on the bed with me for two hours, and although she was a little stiff, it was as if she hadn;t been gone. We slept, I rubbed her head and gave her pets, and eventually, after I;d fallen asleep, she went back under the bed for the rest of the night.
When I called her for breakfast this morning, she popped her head right out from under the bed with her usual greeting. I left her sitting in the bedroom window, content and purring. :)
