Dude DO NOT FIGHT THE INSTINCT. Breadmakers and by proxy the warm, nummy bread they make, are happy and win.

Well, yes. My grandmother and Aunt both got in on the craze when everyone first started selling them in the late 80's. The house usually smelled awseom:)

It's just...why me? I'm not exactly known for my domestic instincts towards the kitchen. I mean, heck, I cna make a mean meal, but I'm not the sort who normally likes puttering around in there for hours on end.

Also, I'd have to be careful when I made it--bread is one of the things that makes me gain weight quickly, especially the store brands with sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup (and most store boughts DO have that as an ingredient. :P).

Is it still expensive, BTW? I remember that that was one of the reasons my Aunt quit doing it.

We do not

have a bread maker because bread should be hard to make! Well, not exactly 'hard' it is after all bread but to pour the ingredients into a machine and get bread in an hour... We'd both be 400 pounds by the end of next week. No, clue and I choose the hard way for fresh bread...

I make it. Clue is not allowed anywhere near yeast.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. Also, if you make your own, you cna chose not to include certain things (like sugar, although I don't know how that would affect the bread), to make it healthier, that you would not be able to avoid if you used the premade mixes for the machines.

Breadmakers are love! We even have one that makes jam, if you can believe it.
