Can't say I really 'get it'.

Can't say I'm really all that upset about it either, especially looking at some of the things I bought into when I was younger (and messed in the head to boot).

But...it kinda upsets me that if I wanted to draw anthromorphic art, that there would be a good chance someone would 'nail' me as being a 'closet furry' because of it. Because internet furry reputation is that bad. It's not so much people might think I'm into it, as the assumptions about what I would 'be like' because I was into it, if that makes sense.

...just had to note that.

Yeah, it's annoying. I play on a fun game where you fly imaginary planes around to do trading and swat down pirates and the like; it's a game in beta and right now the developers are a little worried about potential players being turned off of it because it has cartoony animal avatars...which must therefore be OMG FURRIES!

Yeah, exactly.

Not to mention, although it may be a bit weird to me, I'm pretty sure there has to be some sane furries out there. You know how it is--it's the deviants (yes, I know that could be considered a mutually exclusive term from an outsider POV) and attention whores of any given subculture that generally get the press, and it usually ends up getting even people in the subculture who are sane, steady, sensible, etc bad reps.
