To be honest, I'm not sure it hasn't been fucked since, oh, say, Jimmy Carter. And I was young enough then that I may be wrong and it goes back further than that.

I'll be honest; other than having Meet The Press on that day because I'd been watching the local news on Ike and just hadn't changed the channel yet, I've been more or less ignoring what I could. I've already decided who I'm voting for, and unless God His Own Self comes down from the heavens, points at my chosen candidate and thunders 'Thou Shalt Not Vote For The Antichrist!', I'm not changing my mind (and even then, I might do it anyway, because a little Antichrist with my breakfast might be an interesting change to the routine. ;) ).

I'm beginning to think we should just lock our candidates in a bunker somewhere during election year, let them write a manifest for the public and then STFU and be MIA until election day.
