Pssst, WoW peeps.

Arianthe got the Squashling! And I wasn't even trying for it (Actually I'd been checking out to see what all she'd get turned into when tricked. So far, I like the bat, spirit, and human ninja costumes best). It was a very nice reward after porting into Silvermoon, apparently right in the middle of a zombie invasion, and getting changed and killed not once, not twice, but five times!. OMG! So I turned on my Undead tracking, made a run for the inn and stayed there until the little red dots all went away. XD
Also, I got an unexpected gift which made my night. Someone was in Silvermoon giving away stuff so they could delete, and I wound up being the recipient of their gold! (Poor guy had to chase me down on his mount because I was in Cheetah aspect and trying to get my arse out of the city before more zombies showed, lol). What made it even more wonderful was that I had been struggling to get the money together for riding training and my fruity bird all day, and it'd been a one step forward, two steps back sort of thing, with me still a good ten to fifteen gold short at any given time (repairs and then buying supplies for cooking so that I could bump that up too as I went along. Also, spent a lot of time running from zombies and waiting for quest givers to respawn thanks to the zombies, so it was a little hard to, you know, sell stuff, clear the bags, turn in quests for rewards, etc). Bad luck Just Loves Tarren Mill on our server, you see.
Told the guy he had definitely made my night, and if he ever returned to the game, to feel free to look me up. So, hats off to you, Grimbatol! You bought me my training, my mount, my guild tabard, guild bank, new, upgraded armor, better bags (including a NICE NICE NICE skinner's bag), and as many of the Alliance kitties as I could find on the AH! And I still have change left. :)
It's players like that, even if they're just trying to leave, that make it worth being in the game.
Even if zombies are trying to eat your face every few seconds. *g*

Date: 2008-10-26 10:07 pm (UTC)I backed one poor pally into the banker's area before she got the idea that the reason I'd approached her was so that she could kill me (There weren't any Argent Dawn nearby). It was actually kind fun to watch the toon figit as if she couldn't figure out what to do before she dismounted and drew her sword. At that point, I was nice and stood still for her. Hopefully, it was a moment of fun mock terror for her (without forcibly making her infect herself).
What's sad about the running away game? I think I may be faster using Aspect of the Cheetah than I am on my mount. :/

Date: 2008-10-27 10:37 am (UTC)As for the faster on with the aspect thing, you aren't. Trust me. If you were to look at the percentages, aspect of the cheetah gives 30% (36 or 38% if you have a talent) while mounts give 60% increased run speed. It might look faster cause your bigger and it makes it look slower. I know that happens to me when I go from Tardmuffin to Ninervate, my Tauren Druid. I'm running along and I'm like "WHY AM I GOING SO SLOW!?" But it's just cause the Tauren are so much bigger it just looks slower.

Date: 2008-10-27 11:19 am (UTC)Also, it's an RP server, so I'm actually within the quidelines for her; she'd rather suicide than become Scourge. ;)
And yep, I figured out the speed thing right quick last night after getting infected (And now I will never leave the depths of the UC castle without being on my fruity chicken first ever, ever again. lol). Like you said, it just looks faster when you're running on the ground and 'smaller'. *g*
I love that icon of Tard, BTW. :)
