Found a cockroach that had founf its way into the apartment over by the porch door. On its back and definitely dead. And...a bit chewed.

You're lucky though. Mine just eat the legs off the poor stupid cock-a-roaches that occasionally wander into the house as part of the charm of living in the south. But not the antenna. So there will be this quarter sized water bug on the floor, just flailing away with his antenna. It's actually kind of sad. Not so sad that I don't smoosh them, but whatever.

I think my girls figured out I liked my cockroach 'gifts' dead after watching me beat the heck and life out of the first two that they'd cornered in the bathoom. Mom was pleased the girls had 'caught' them, you see (there were lots of pets and praises), but then The Shoe came out and the cockroaches would be flat a moment later.

I take it as an honor that they think to kill the things for me before leaving them as presents for me to find. :)
