My life in a handbasket
Aug. 24th, 2011 04:01 pmLet's see.
Boss got upset because I...fuck, I don't even know how to explain it other than my partner and I were asked to do things differently than we had been, which we'd been doing, but one thing that we were asked to do I did the old way, once, today, because it would save time on a very busy day and she didn't want to hear it that way.
So, after everything else, and being up since 2 am because my fire alarms went on the fritz abd it took til 4 to get them silenced...
I walked out.
Dumb move on my part, but it was that or tell her to shove it and get fired.
Boss over her told me to keep tag and keys until tomorrow and think it over.
So I keep them, I go, and since I had to anyway, I got food shopping for the cats, and then go get the car inspected for the year, which took time because they had to replace the tires and a few other things.
Get home, check phone, get a message from her which is "I don't know what happened, but I guess if I don't hear back from you by ten, you quit."
1) It was 11 when I got the message
2) The call was from the desk of the supervisor that had told me to go home and cool off and not quit just yet.
So I guess I know where that's going.
So...text dad (meanwhile, maintenance showed up to work on the fire alarms and did a few other things that needed doing, so at least that was a good day). Tell hjim what happened, tell hjim I'll be okay, will start job hunt tomorrow, etc.
He calls back, advises going to HR in the morning. Then hits me with the next ugly bit for the day.
Grandma is in the hospital, and things are not looking good. So he's on his way out there with all the rest of the sibs and their spouses. He'll call me when he gets in tonight.
So, yay.
So...I wait for that news.
And I go see HR tomorrow.
And then I probably start job hunting, because I highly doubt I have a job anymore.
PS: I have a migraine.

Date: 2011-08-27 05:00 pm (UTC)It's honestly been an ugly time for both of us with the new company, and it doesn't help that one of the management team does'nt care as long as he doesn't have to deal with 'problems' (Our director), and the other tends to do the 'smile to you face and then play games behind your back' in order to secure her own position...and get the rest of us to infighting by making the person immediately in front of her 'happy' until she contradicts herself later by making someone else 'happy' when they go to her.
...NOt sure that makes sense, actually, but essentially, the woman is a player, and my immediate boss is forced into 'playing' too to keep her own job and yet still have to try and hold her team together at the same time. Which is...yeah, ugly and she kinda forgot that I do better if I know what's going on, even if it's only a 'stuff is happening, can't talk about it, but I promise it's not you'.
