Y'all don't forget that tomorrow is the day the US Postal Service is collecting canned goods for food banks nationwide. Many needy families have it worse May-August, because the kids aren't getting their lunches at school, and food banks traditionally get fewer donations this time of year than at the holidays, and supplies are often low.
So, count your blessings, go root through the pantry and see what you can spare, stick it in a bag and put it by the mailbox.
And pass it on.

(A suggestion for those of us in places where canned goodies by the mailbox may not be such a great idea--if your local PO is open, why not just motor it on down?)
