Thought/question for the day:

Yesterday was one of those 'official day for celebrating --blat--' days. You know, the days when you're supposed to acknowledge whatever it is, maybe get into it a little and enjoy it if you can? Like National Jelly Bean Day or National Nurses Week. You know, that sort of thing.

So tell me, am I off my rocker, or is there something intrinsically creepy/weird/fucked up/ Just Plain Wrong about National Hysterectomy Day? Especially when it involves having about four times the usual amount of patients coming in for, yes, hysteroctomys.

Just asking....

there is a national hysterectomy day??? as in "let's celebrate all the women who have had to have one and make them feel good" or "let's everybody go and have one"? LOL

i vote for the creepy factor. that just seems very very strange.

Yeah, there really is a National Hysterectomy Day--it was yesterday, at least according to the nurses here. Our Day Surgery area was hopping yesterday with mostly those types of patients (and more today to fit in the ones they couldn't do yesterday...).

And...I'm not sure what we're supposed to be celebrating in regards to the day, but...uh...

Yeah. >.<
