I reached level 25 on my main (1/3 to 70, a little over 1/4 on my way to 80).
I got the first three fishing Achievments, as well as a few of the exploratory ones.
When I was fishing in the Ghostlands, there was an Nelf on a gorgeous white tiger mount that kept crossing the bridge connecting Tranquillen with up north. He kept stopping to take a look over at what I was doing. I managed to wave once right after I caught a fish, but I don't know if he saw that.
Earlier, I was working on the Fenris Island quests (There were tons of Alliance all over the area there and at Undercity for most of the night), and this dwarf on another pretty kitty (This one was the tiger drop, I think) kept riding his mount up to me and stopping to stare. Finally, I stopped, bowed, and then made a run for the river (and the Murlock camp there). He quit me following once I'd managed to get into a knot of the little buggers.
I killed them all, too. Got a nice tailoring pattern out of it (that I later sold since I work leather, not tailoring), and some clams to boil. Hmmmn, clams :)
Caught me a bear for training later, that I named Angry Joe. :) Now that I have a main Ferocity and a Tenacity pet, I need to decide what I want for a Cunning pet; any suggestions? (Although it'll be a while before I catch that one, both because I have to train Joe first, and because I need to buy another stall so I have a spare, so feel free to suggest ones above my level).
Also returned to the Ghostlands to take down Knucklerot and Luz on my own, because the first time through I was a few levels lower, scared to death, and had a high level buddy with me. So I wanted to prove to myself I could do it on my own at level 24. I did, and it gave me more practice at the whole 'stay at a fucking distance and heal your pet' thing (since usually, I just shoot until it reaches me and then whale on it with my sword). But we got 'em both, without dying, and with both of them right there in the area (although I was smart enough to kite one away from the other and then go after the second one once the first was dead. Instead of, you know, trying to take them both on at once). No worries, I made sure no one else was around, and there were no LFGs currently up for going after them, so I'm pretty sure they were back up and doing fine by the time someone else wanted a go at them.
And my fun but stupid thing for the night; Taking pot shots at an invading level 70 Alliance (in a group of them) that was trying to get into Undercity. :) Mind you, once he figured out where the pet and the arrows were coming from, I died an incredibly fast death (I think it was a druid and he used the moonfire spell on me--at least, that's what it looked like compared to the one I have on my own baby druid.) So, it was fun, and LOL worthy (Hey, I had to try!), and I snickered the whole time while rezzing and getting my dumb hunter butt out of there before they realized I was alive again. :)
(Hopefully it wasn't rude that I had tried it).

Date: 2008-10-19 09:20 pm (UTC)And yeah, Hunters can take down things easy when they follow the "stay away and heal the pet" strategy. If you really want to get fancy, you can practice jump shotting. It's when you are running away from something, jump, right click and turn around, shoot, and then face back the way your running before hitting the ground. Another way I do it is to right click, face 90 degrees away from them, and then shoot, and run sideways and when you want to shoot, just turn a little bit and then shoot. It takes some practice. But if you get it down, you can just about kill anyhing so long as it doesn't have ranged attacks, and even then you can. Like my friend, at level 54 or something like that, he killed a level 60 elite by using this strategy of kiting it all the way around the zone.
As for the 70 pot shots, it's not rude, but it's kinda stupid. Fun, but stupid.

Date: 2008-10-20 12:35 pm (UTC)...I might leave the jump-shotting to the pros. I have enough trouble with finger dexterity as it is. :)
Yep. It is stupid, and I knew it was stupid, but it was just one of those things, you know? After having to dodge the last five attempts on UC, and that for once they weren't directly in my way, and also there were tons of other Horde, I figured I could at least register my 'displeasure' with the constant bombarding (I swear, there were at least five raids an hour while I was playing this weekend, except when it was easrly morning, or late night Saturday--the raiding seemed to have died down around 11pm (9pm server time). That, and even when I wanted nothing to do with the raids, the bastards killed Elder when I wasn't looking. Three freaking times. :P
(ETA Note: Elder was on defensive as usual and never left my side--so it's not like I sent him to kill anyone).
Nothing like suddenly having your cat up and croak while you're trying to sell something or cook. :/
But yeah, ultimately, I did it for the lols. Because I knew I was dead or better once they saw me. :)
