I had a lot of fun running with Tardmuffin the other night, and I am very grateful for his help/company.

That rocked. Seriously. I actually wound up helping a level 15 hunter/paladin pug pair take down the twins afterward, BTW. Several times, because they were apparently collecting spinal dust and hearts and Luz kept sneaking up on them (I was, too, just do see what you got if you did it more than once). Anyway, after about the fifth time of smacking Luz flat, we went after Knuckleheadrot. The first time, they didn't even react to him until after he'd practically landed on them (we weren't grouped at that point, I was just, nominally, 'tracking' for them. NO idea why they didn't tear into him as soon as they saw him), so I took first shot at him with Hunter's Mark (just the Mark, but still...), which of course meant they didn't get the credit for it, so the second time we grouped and it went fine.

Anyhow, the question.

One of my (many) problems with grouping is getting my mouse clicks to actually freaking register when I aim at something to shoot it. Some of those delays when I didn't seem to be keeping up or reacting? It's because I couldn't get a lock on the stupid mob and had to click five, six, seven freaking times. Part of it's lag. Part of it's getting the pointer to lock on the mob instead of party members when everyone is crowded in on the action. And it's frustrating the hell out of me.

So, how should I adjust my camera angle to help combat this? (Keep in mind that I have to keep a careful balance between being able to see everything and not overloading my laptop with too much info--IE moving mobs and players--if I back out too far).

Of making a 'suicide run' to Northrend tonight, just to see it.

What I'm wondering is if my level 46 will live long enough to go 'oh pretty', or if I should take my level 16 with an escort of guildie friends *hint hint*.

Or is this the ultimate suicide, and I'll spend five hours getting back to somewhere 'safe' if I try this?

Because I know how you felt about this.

I have them up at the usual sites, but between less than usual traffic and then DC getting, well, DC'd during an attempt at a server switch overnight, my little ones are lagging a little more than usual. :/

Also, for WoW folks:

I spent about three hours last night solo'ing Razorfen Kraul looking for those damned bats. Got lots of loot and skins, but no bats. Did look up this morning that they're supposedly on the 'west side' in a cave, and apparently up high on the brambles and the like, but can anyone give me more precise directions? I really don't want to spend another three hours on it tonight; I just want to finish up my UC/ UC Apothocary quests so I can move on.

WoW related.

I've managed, over the past three weeks, to get one black tabby for myself, three that I've sold on the Horde AH, and a fifth sitting in my bank so that when I finally make it to one of the neutral AH's I can charge some poor Alliance person incredible amounts of money for the little guy.

...And it's funny, because I feel a bit guilty for trafficking kitties in game, because of my stance IRL about adopting animals, not buying from breeding mills, and so forth.

Mind you, not that it's going to stop me from selling those tabbies, anyway. (Just that I'll feel guilty and hope the horde folks who bought them treat them well. *snort* I'm hopeless.)

*g*

Have a good night, everyone.

That I'm seriously considering filling all my stable slots with different cats?

It's going to be a very long time before I can do raid content.

Went to just sit and watch an attack on Sylvanis in UC tonight, and my fp dropped to 6 before I even cleared the door into the royal chamber. And this was after a day of cleaning out my computer, deleting bad files, defragging everything, taking off programs I'm not ever likely to use, etc.

I have a bad feeling trying to go to Dalaran/Northrend will not be in the cards for me unless I can somehow upgrade my laptop.

Suck. Guess it's a good thing I don't mind doing solo, and that I'm not desperate to see every single ounce of the content.

Bummer.

Also, we went from 69 to 31 in three hours. Yo, hai thar, Texas weather. Eat me.

When other lower level players actually start asking you for help when they see you pass by on the road, so to speak.

...I only hope I'm doing right by them when I'm able to stop and give a helping hand (helped two players tonight when I got whispered, had to turn down a third because I'm about to go to bed and the quest they needed was too long. I actually felt a little bad turning them down, but I need my sleep. 5am comes much too early.)

Anyone else get a confused but nice feeling when they get asked for help?

I don't think I ever took screenies of the dress Miyanda made for Ari.

Here they are, under the cut. :)

Or, in my case; Still No Car.

Everyone wants to look at it first before they can tell me what they think is wrong with it. Which means, since this weeks paycheck is pretty much dedicated to rent, I'll have to wait for Dad's check to come in later this week to get it towed.

Since I suspect it's actually electrical this time (long story about how the inside light turned on overnight, car almost started when I left it on, but when I turned if off, everything quit again, etc.), I'm going to just save the mess of having to tow it twice and take it straight to the Ford dealership. I love my mechanics, but I don't think they'll be able to fix it if it does turn out to be the electrical system.

Other than that, I'm doing good. Did a bit of character hopping this weekend, and will probably do more today. Got my lockboxes opened...and tipped well. :) And I got another black tabby, which I promptly auctioned, and then spent most of the money on upgrades. :P. Tried to buy a mount in advance for J's character on CC, found out the hard way you can't mail it or sell it, either. :/ (PS, Jess, please go get the siamese out of your mailbox if you haven't already, and let me know you got it out. Poor thing will probably need a ton of catnip by now. :) ).

Anyhow, my question is this; if I manage to snag a third black tabby, does anyone in the guild want it? I was going to send the second one I got to Geekie, but I didn't know if she already had one (and I wasn't sure Jess had been on to get her last kitty, which is why I didn't think to send it to her). Now is the time to let me know; I will happily camp until I get how ever many kitties my guildies want plus one or two more for AH. :)

I would have felt bad for the fact that I'd screwed up royally and followed the warlock I'd PuG'ed with over the wall, and forgetting to dismiss my pet before I did so.

But between him charging blindly into every corner, leaving me behind after half the Mobs would swarm me as he ran, and the fact that the idiot jumped into a freaking knot of MoBs without telling me that's where we were landing when we left the wall?

I don't feel bad at all for feigning death while I waited for my pet to catch up with us, or for the fact that the warlock died, or for the fact that he ungrouped us right after.

Because, to be honest? I got what I needed about two mobs into our partnership and was just hanging around to help him out anyway.

And I'm not going to feel bad about the fact that he was still stuck in the middle of Stromguarde when he revived...and that I was close enough to an outer wall that I didn't have to go back inside to get my body.

Oh, and I had a much easier time of it by myself when I got sent back twice more on other quests.

(Disclaimer: I realize I might have been rude according to WoW etiquette. But...yeah. For once, feeling smug instead.)

ETA: I didn't feign death until I was down to about 500 hp. So I didn't just sit there while the guy took hits, but he kept setting more mobs off.

Okay, I have two iron lockboxes sitting in my bank on Cenarian Circle, thanks to Geekie's kindness of running me through the Scarlet Monestary a few weeks ago (I got the quest to go back again, BTW. LOL).

Here are my questions:

1) Anyone here have a horde side rogue 'big' enough to unlock them?
2) Failing that, I made a rogue this morning with the express intent of turning him into my local locksmith/bank alt (at least Horde-side). How long and how high a level would I need to get him in order to be able to undo the lockboxes?
3) And, failing that, due to time-constraints, the level needed ends up being crazy high, or me going 'fuck that shit, I want the damn things open right now!', what would be a reasonable amount of gold/silver to offer a rogue I don't know to open the boxes for me, and how can I make sure I actually get the items in the boxes without said rogue ninja-ing them away after he gets the boxes open? (I know to ask on trade channel, because I see both rogues and folks needing rogues asking all them time, but never see a price being mentioned)

4) Those polar bears are cute; I got them activated on every single toon, used or not, except for my two made-but-not-used Draenei because I can't seem to find the road out of town. ^^;

It might not be the colletors edition, but I have the game itself. :)

There will be much downloading and installing when I get home.

If my first 70 dings while I'm farming for that stupid cat. Went from a 32 to a 37 so far. :P

Also: anyone else feel slightly guilty killing mobs in the opposing faction's areas when a player from that faction shows up (RP server, so they can't 'defend the honor' of their 'homeland'--just watch while you mow down their allies).
silverthorne: Painting of a cougar sneaking through underbrush (Default)
Not locked, so linking, especially since they didn't say I could steal it (at least not yet).

Sometimes, my fellow WoW players are pretty damn cool about Obama.

So far, the comments are cool, too. ;)

(Because I said I would, at least once, anyway)

I went. I saw. I killed nine of the werewolves and their little wolf buddies.

And then, in the middle of trying to draw a single mob to me, someone called my home phone.

The game froze. And then disconnected.

I died.

The end.

(But I was doing very well up to that point. Actually almost made it outside to that first little question mark!)

I miss the zombies. :(

You know, the ones that have the swirly gate to get through, and the 'group' stone outside?

I have three tasks in Shadowfang Keep to do (they've been in my quest log for a month now). They are, as of last night, all in green (Which means I'm the correct level for them).

...Do I need friends for this, or can I go it alone? Also, once I cross the swirly, can I get back out? Or do I have to finish the instance first?

I wanna doooo eeeet, but I do not want to get stuck in there!

Hey, dude?

If I say 'no, I don't want to duel,' I mean I don't want to duel. And no, offering me money and spamming me twenty flipping times with the flag is not going to change my mind. Especially since we're right outside the UC front gates, and there's zombies in the area. This is an RP server to boot. That means that no, I don't have to accept. And I won't. Why? Because you were freaking rude about it. Now get lost!

I'd cuss, but I'll settle for 'Here, have a bird, and not the one I'm riding on to get away from you.'

Sincerely,
Player of Arianthe.
