I can sort of see today...
Feb. 21st, 2008 07:55 amSo that means the potential FF group gets more poll questions. Yay?
Feel free to answer even if you're not going to play. I like opinions. :)

FF Game stuff...Opinions/input wanted.
Feb. 18th, 2008 11:31 amSo, I'm thinking...the characters start out with a skillset that's uniquely theirs (like the newer games), but other skills/skillsets they can get hold of through other crystals (since summons will already be snagged that way.)
Not necessarily like summons crystals...but maybe so. Like, maybe summons that went 'dead' because they were left alone too long...or they scattered over more than one crystal so that you can use their essence/abilities, but there's no intelligence or driving force behind them.
Kinda like some where between the crystal skillsets from...what was it, 5? And the materia...and the dress spheres, you know?
Good idea? Bad idea?
Of course, it could just be I think that's cool because I spent most of Sunday alternating between trudging my group of baby crystal bearers around in FFI for leveling and then sketching out quick alt. costume ideas for each of the classes for my own character in between setting up the battle menu.
...which made for some interesting 'quick, sketch the idea down before you have to push more buttons!' moments. XD.

FF Otherworld stuff
Feb. 10th, 2008 08:44 amI actually DID do something in between being blind and all this week.
Needs work, but welcome to 'the world' as it is at the moment.
(PS: Click on pic three times to get to its actual (readable) size.)

Okay, FF peeps...
Jan. 31st, 2008 10:52 amNo one answered this last night.
Thing is, without that input, I'm going to scrap the idea, because I'm not going to put a lot of effort into something, including setting up comm accounts, for a game that maybe will have players. I have art and videogames and the like I'd love to be playing too, and if I'm wasting a few weeks to a month on something that's not going to fly, that's no good. Especially with my Mad Procrastination Skillz.
This will be as picky as I get as a mod, but since I tend to try and work my games around my players, rather than my players around my games, I feel the imput is important.
So, even if you do nothing more than 'This sounds good/bad/whatever, but I'd like to see more before I say anything', please do so. If all I end up with is Dave, chances are, I'll do an email game with him and not even bother with a comm.
Yes, yes, I know, pushy me. Humor me; chances are, you'll like the game better if you do (and it'll get all my control impulses out of the way early. :) )
Also, got an idea you want to see incorporated? Feel free to speak up. Chances are I'll find a way to work it in.
Also, rebl? Will you be all right getting an InsaneJournal for this game if you decide to play? Most folks are tending to want to go there, but if you're wanting to play still, I can keep it here, too. I'd rather have my players than a 'preferred' site.
Thanks, guys, and *hugs*

Jan. 24th, 2008 07:55 amok....so it seems I have two folks at least who are interested if I get an FF game going, right?
Anyone else? Roll call please. Even if you're just thinking 'maybe' (especially since I don't have a lot of info up at the moment), let me know. It'll help me design things, you see.
I will also be honest and say that it will likely be at least a month before it starts--I want to be able to take the time to design the world, get info together, and even ask potential players about their characters so that I can weave some of that into the actual storyline and/or world. I like free-form, but I also like having connections that actually pertain to specific characters and with what the players are doing or wanting to do--makes it easier to get folks involved on a game-wide scale if some of the encounters and plot points have factors that 'call' to charaters specifically.
At the moment, what's going on in my head:
Most likely it'll be an original world--I might 'borrow' the concept from KH and/or the nexus of a few dimensional rifts to allow for the appearance of canon characters, or take Dave's suggestion and have canon c's being 'drawn' to this new world to help deal with whatever's going on. I might also borrow known locations from the various games, such as the Calm Lands or The Golden Saucer. What do you guys think?
I already have a few ideas bouncing around in general, and am thinking of bouncing them off you guys (yes, I rule by committee often), and will likely share them here, although I may end up flocking those in the future.
Also, again, if you've been reading along, and it sounds like fun, but you don't know the genre, don't feel shy about asking to play anyway. I can provide info and even links to the CGI cuts from some of the games so that you can get a feel for what Final Fantasy is all about, and things like weapons and spells and how all that is set up is easily exlained. And since it'll likely be a new world, you won't have to worry about 'messing up' in regards to knowing info from the games about places, people, or even plots.
