silverthorne: (Coffee or Die)
(No, I haven't had my coffee yet. But that's only because it isn't done brewing.)

So, okay. Now that I'm out of the house I:

Am eating a lot of fruits and veggies.

Am eating mostly lean seafood with the occasional lowfat hamburger or keilbasa sausage dish thrown in for variety.

Have not had one. Single. Wine cooler. Since I've moved out, and haven't wanted one (or any sort of alcohol) at all.

Am drinking mostly ice water, with the occasional Lime Diet Coke, as well as coffee and one 8oz cup of V8 juice and one 8oz of OJ with vitamin D and calcium with breakfast each morning.

...and I'm actually thinking of cutting out the coffee, too.

Hmn...should I?

One of the things I've decided to do is start a gallery 'log' of how I look as I get better, lose weight, and everything else. I'll leave it open, if you guys want to peek in from time to time. I added the first four pics today.

...What's scary? They're 'before and after' pics, as in 'Anne without and then with make-up'.

And the only make-up I put on was foundation around the eyes for the 'after' shots...

I guess that's a good thing, right?

Anyway, for those interested

Commentary welcome, of course. How can I improve without input, right?

So, for the first time since 199-something, I did something I positively love.

I went and swam in the apartment pool.

I love it. I still know how to, you know, actually do things like freestyle, backstroke, and breast stroke. I still suck at the butterfly, though. Always did. *g*

Anyhow, so I got my exercise, my water and my sun in a nice 40 minute package and all was well with the world.

So, part of my secret self improvement plan is to get my skin better looking since a mere two years now separates me from the big 4-0.

I'm finding that one 12oz V8 and application of St. Ives Collagen Elastin each day is accomplishing this very nicely. even the raccoon eyes arent as bad as they used to be (although I'm testing out the almond oil technique on those).

And at 3 dollars per 24 oz bottle of lotion, and 2-3 bottles of V8 at 3-4 dollars each a week...

Yeah, looks good to me.

D'oh!

Dear Me--

Going off the suppliments for five days?
Bad! BAD ANNE!!!

Do not do that anymore. Even if it does mean you have to cart your handful of pills from your bedroom to the nearest sink every morning because you've been pushed out of the bathroom by the new roomie's stuff.

You can stand to be less lazy in the interest of not being a crazy person.

Thank you.

All right. So I'm 36 now, have just recently cut my hair (and it actually looks good and less mullet-like by the day), and of course notice, like my dad and mom both, that my nice brunette hair has not only lost a bit of it's red highlighting and gotten more golden-brownish over the years, but is finally starting that cool little salt-and-pepper thing the brunettes on both side of my family are prone to.

It's cool--the hair is coming in either solid white, or that nice silvery-white that looks so cool when it all grows in. No yellowing for me, it would seem. Go, me!

Unfortunately, much as I don't mind ageing gracefully (and am actually looking forward to having a nice head of silver-white hair), at the moment, what I really want to do is dye my hair dark red again.

For the color...not to hide the gray (I've been getting grey hairs here and there for about four years now--no big to me).

Oh, the temptation...

Another 3 pounds have bitten the dust. :D

Down to 182, with the scale flickering down into 181. Only three more pounds to be my lightest adult wieght. Yay!!!!

^^

In other news, my project is going well. I haven't started writing the actual story, but am still working out things like the politics, some past history, the races and their roles, even silly things like costuming and architecture. Cool thing is, is that it's actually helping me redefine the plots, the characters themselves, and how certain interactions and situations will play through (or even how they're reached).

It's amazing how much can be shaped (or changed, in certain cases, since I'm cannibalizing several half-formed ideas, worlds, plots and combining them) by creating the world itself. It's even encouraged me to avoid the fangirl thing of insisting on keeping certain characters and situations the way they'd 'always had been', and instead putting them through some major overhauls so that they actually fit in and work well with the story.

This is, I think, a good thing.

Nothing exciting today--just nice cool weather courtesy of the tropical storms down south (I hope that if any of you are in the path of any of those three storms, that you stay safe and undamaged), and the fact that I have lost another pound.

Very happy about that...that makes 27 pounds since the middle of June or there-abouts....:D. 190 doesn't seem so impossible any more...
